Hobbies can also be used to demonstrate you have a skill relevant to the position you are applying for. Some hobbies can make you stand out and present topics of conversation should you be selected for an interview. The purpose of your resume is to get you a job interview and including hobbies is acceptable as long as it contributes to that purpose.

  • Include a brief description of your hobby: Don’t just list your hobbies with no explanation. Provide a short description that show how it is relevant

  • Be honest: Don’t lie about your hobbies or it could catch up with you at a later date.
  • Don’t get too weird: An interesting hobby can attract attention but if it is too strange it might put people off
